Security video of suspect's vehicle released in deadly hit-and-run
Toronto police released security camera video thursday of the vehicle they believe was used in the death of 27-year old Chris Skinner. The video shows a black SUV speeding through the intersection of Adelaide Street and Victoria Street early sunday morning when Skinner was beaten then run over. He was leaving his sister's birthday party early sunday morning when the accident happened. The suspects fled the scene in their black SUV and are still on the loose.
Earlier today, a memorial service was held today for the victim. Family and friends paid their respects at St. Paul's Leaksdale Church in Uxbridge where Skinner's family lives.
Police have stopped short of calling the attack a "hate crime", but friends of the victim say he was targetted because he was gay. Skinner's father, Warren also believes his son's sexual orientation may have played a part in his death. "I can remember not that long ago walking down the street with Christopher and his friend Ryan and hearing people yell things at them because of their sexuality."
Several witnesses have already come forward, but police say they are still looking to speak with anyone else who may have witnessed the crime.
