Toronto man assaulted and run over by an SUV

Police have released the name of a homicide victim after he was run down by someone driving an SUV on the weekend in downtown Toronto.

Christopher Skinner, 27, of Toronto, was killed Sunday after an altercation occurred between the occupants of a black SUV and the victim, Toronto police said Monday.

Police say during the incident, the victim was assaulted and knocked to the ground. After the occupants of the SUV returned to the vehicle, the driver ran over the man.

He was taken to hospital but later died.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

Police are calling the incident a homicide and are searching for the driver of the SUV.
