Gemini award-winning journalist Allison Vuchnich loves telling stories.
As a health, investigative and political reporter, Allison has covered numerous stories for local and national audiences. Allison was live from Washington, DC on 9/11 and was standing in St. Peter's Square at the passing of Pope John Paul II in 2005. She garnered a Gemini and several RTNDA awards for her exclusive investigation into health concerns regarding compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL's), as well as other enterprise and feature reporting.
Allison joined Global National's Washington, D.C. bureau in January 2002. In 2004, she moved back to Canada as part of Global National's Toronto bureau. More recently, she has been reporting for Global's current affairs program, 16:9 - The Bigger Picture, for Global Toronto and for all Global stations across the country with a concentration in special features, investigative stories and big events like the Olympics and G20 Summit. Allison has also worked for CTV, ABC and NBC.
Allison holds a Masters degree in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism, at Northwestern University in Chicago.
